Network Specialist
- Coverage of the required services includes end-user support, plus the support to all the related hardware, software, networks, servers, special devices, system documentation, communication lines and equipment.
- Work according to maintenance plan and conduct review of the maintenance plan when need arises.
- Perform network system monitoring and tuning, system administration and housekeeping activities, including documentation update; If necessary, may need to perform network cable preparation and installation such as punching down the keystone jack.
- Perform 'firefighting' maintenance activities.
- Advise the network infrastructure design in terms of network performance, reliability and security. Coordinate with the network contractors and other government departments if necessary.
- Provide professional advice and services in maintaining the server room in an orderly manner and up to a satisfaction service level.
- A bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology / Network Applications or equivalent.
- At least 7 years’ experience in maintenance and support of the network systems for the Government of the HKSAR.
- At least 7 years’ experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting network routers.
- At least 3 years’ experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting network switches.
- At least 3 years’ experience in administering and configuring network security products.
- At least 3 years’ experience in using network monitoring tools.
- At least 3 years design experience to implement Ethernet network using VLAN on switch with STP as a redundancy LAN connection.
- At least 3 years’ experience in installing, administering, configuring and troubleshooting Wi-Fi network equipment (such as H3C products) with security measures.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security; and
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing and Switching.
- Able to read and write Traditional Chinese and English.
- Able to communicate in fluent Cantonese and good English.
